County clerks have drastically increased the cost to file complaints, in some cases raising the cost by 30%. In Cook County, for example, the Clerk raised the cost to file an eviction complaint from $268.25 to $379.25–an increase of $111.00. Below are the complaint filing costs for certain Illinois counties. The three costs are identified as follows: Joint Action (Possession and Rent) / Possession Only / Joint Action Over $15,000.
